It might be free but there's not a lot to see unless you climb lots of stairs! It says its the 'origins of madrid' but the only real origin I saw was the miracle well. I found it hard to walk around the building following...More

We came across this (free) museum returning from dinner one night which might be the only way people find it as it is poorly advertised and named either the Museum of Madrid's Origins or the Museum of San Isidro. The galleries display information, paleontological and...More

While it doesn't pop up on most tourist maps and can be hard to find, the museum is well worth the visit, especially for families with small children. First of all, it's free. Second, even at the height of tourist season, there were few people...More

Surprisingly good. Small museum of the history of Madrid. Very interesting legend of San Isidro, you must learn the story at the museum. The museum is refurbished and all are very well displayed. Find this!

In a quiet street and not very obvious, it would be easy to miss. It is however definitely worth a visit. It has a whole range of exhibits, displays etc, describing the origins of Madrid and its site, from prehistoric times [with examples of animals...More

Its free to visit. Quite informative. I also liked the playing screens so the visit was a bit more enjoyable. Not too big but still you can spend a good hour there.

Pretty uninteresting, even for a history buff. Done better elsewhere. On the plus side by coming here you've found yourself in a good area to eat and drink.

There has been a new refurbishment finished only two weeks ago. The museum is free and open all day. The exhibits have some excellent interactive displays including an early elephant skull and enormous tusks, and several films showing different episodes in the history of Madrid...More

So much is packed into this small museum . Great place to spend a few hours and maybe relax in the herb garden. If you like history this is the place for you.

Just happened upon this hidden gem of a museum that traces the story of Madrid from pre- historic times. Good, interactive displays, helpful staff and a quiet garden to reflect on what you have seen.

La Latina is a charming neighbourhood with two unique
personalities. At first glance, it’s distinctly
old-world, with narrow streets weaving a maze among
charming stone buildings in sunny, bright colors like

characterized by a young population and a bohemian
