A thirty minute trip from Los Nietos to Cartegena for 2.70 euros return! What's not to like? A very modern train, (buy your tickets on the train), really interesting scenery, plenty of free car parking in Los Nietos (not a great resort!) and finally delivery...More

Our main purpose for being at Los Nietos was to catch the lovely narrow-gauge train to Cartagena, some 20 kms away ( only 2.70 euros return - such value) We parked at the large Los Nietos Pescadaria station carpark (free) and prior to our train...More

Lovely sandy beach on the lagoon side of Mar Menor , really warm water. This is an old Spanish resort and is only busy at Easter and August. In September it was an absolute ghost town . Easily accessible by train from Cartagena

Los Nietos is a quiet fishing village, frequented by some foreign tourists, and a lot of Spaniards from other areas, who have holiday homes here. A great place to relax and unwind. The beach is well maintained and there is a walkway that extends for...More

Lovely shallow beach, ideal for families..clean enough and never busy, lovely promenade. Absolutely NOTHING around it except 1 restaurant. No shops, bars etc so come to enjoy tranquillity and go elsewhere for anything else!

We read several articles online about Los Nietos and as we staying in Cartagena thought it would be a nice trip out. The train ride is good for €2.70 return (station is round the corner from the main station, next to the main bus station)...More

I am considering a 3 month trip (Jan, Feb, Mar - 2016), just me and my 2 dogs. From what I have just read it is sounding as if I may be on my own in a 'closed' village. Would appreciate your comments as 3 months is a long time with nothing going on.
