It is a still, nice visit with a very good view of all Cartagena region, reaching docks, port and mountains.

Visiting the castle is a great way to see the whole city from on high and get your bearings. The mixture of old and new in the restoration works well. The exhibition of the history is in English and Spanish and very interesting

This is a ruined fortress that once formed part of the city defenses, situated above the old Town. The castle is set in the beautiful Torres Park. It is also a great viewpoint from which to look over the city & across the harbour.

We bought a multi entry ticket that included the Roman Museum, forum and conception castle. This allows you to use the 40m outside lift (well worth it). You really get a great feel for the geography of Cartagena from the top of the Castle. There...More

Great view point leading to even better views from around the castle and within its grounds. We came by train for a day trip. From the station we followed the strangely named American streets to the lift. Las Americas from Plaza Mexico, Los Angeles, etc....More

The Castle is about 10 minutes walk and then there is a lift from the street up to a stage where there still is a bit of uphill walking to the very top. My Wife has COPD and we walked into the Town centre on fairly flat... More
