I'm a keen trekker- trekked to in the Himalayas, alps, uk etc and I feel confident to warn that this walk is fairly challenging and enjoyable. The challenge comes from the limestone pathway - which has been polished by the boots of many walkers over the years. I would strongly suggest wearing good walking shoes/boots. Trainers are a no no... More

Take a bottle of water and start early in the day. Wonderful views, remember to look at them as you make your way up to the rock....

The Penon D'Ifach is very unusual and provides a spectacular landmark in Calpe, situated as it is at the apex of the Arenal and Fossa beaches that form the two distinctly different parts of the small town that has grown from the original fishing village. It towers over the fishing port and harbour, still very busy and over the marina... More

Take your time. Enjoy the views and smell the coffee. Good boots a must. If your partner insists on walking 10 foot ahead threaten divorce. It is a bit scary but the rope offers some comfort. You must have a head for heights and confidence. I got a bit nervous but serious it is great with fab views and well... More

Fantastic! Lovely picnic area before you do a good walk as far as the tunnel! From that point on it's adults only as there are some very narrow paths on the way up - people flout this rule but they really shouldn't as it can be quite dangerous for little ones! Spectacular views

I am not a big climber but enjoy a walk. This a combination of the two challenging but not too tough for anyone who is reasonably fit and determined. It is a game of two halves the walk up to,the tunnel then a climb come scramble to the top. Throughout the views are fabulous. Most people head for the top... More

Lovely walk around the base. The rock is amazing. The wild cats are well fed by visitors. Didn't venture up the rock though. Great photo opportunity
