This was absolutely amazing. There is mud in the lake that you are supposed to put on your skin and let it dry in the sun. Afterward you wash it off in the lake. It's so much salt in the water so it will make...More

We looked at reviews and while there were several negative ones, we thought the positive ones outweighed them. We took a day trip from Alicante. We just assumed that we needed to take the bus from Alicante to Torrevieja. While there is a lake in...More

Really beautiful pink salt lake. A bit hard to find but worth it! Not really a beach, but there is place for a few ppl to lie/sit by the water.

The salt lake next to Torrevieja is known locally as the 'Pink Lake' due to its odd pink colour. apparently it has something to do with a type of algea that grows in this salt lake. Its nice and relaxing to stroll or cycle around...More

This is a weird place. Seems that the municipality does not want people to visit - no real path leading down to the water, and no other amenities at the site. However, well there it was a very very salty experience. We got covered in...More

We were initially told that there is nothing special about it... and I am glad we did not take note of this. From afar it seems like nothing but a normal lake, until you are standing with your feet in the naturally pink water and...More

We had great things in mind when we went there but were badly disappointed when all the lake was was a mud puddle. It didn't look temptating enough to swim in it and the swimming place was really small.

Perfect this time of year... (April) My boyfriend and I walked alongside the south west side of the natural salt lake and loved it. It's so peaceful and temperature was just right. We took a packed lunch and found the picnic area pretty quickly on...More

Definitely not pink, a bit smelly and zero sign of any flamingos. Really disappointing all around to be honest.

Great place where you can take mudbaths for free and dip in THE saltlake and enjoy THE floating on THE water like in THE dead sea

yes you would not believe how pink this lake can get. But be awhere this is a working salt lake and is rough around the edges. the locals and some tourist do go down and coat themselves in mud and stand drying of in the sun... More
Are there any hides overlooking the lake or if not what are the best places to see the flamingos and other wildlife ?

its not the pink lake that has the bird life. its the natural lake that is close by. there are viewing platforms along the way. lovely walk/cycle around. take plenty of water as gets very hot during summer months.
