The palatial Ayuntamiento (Town Hall) of Valencia dominates the square, and its bells chime out the hours. Surrounding the plaza are other buildings from the city's golden age, such as the Correos (the main post office). In the center of the plaza, a fountain is surrounded by flower stalls with all the colors, sizes, varieties imagineable. This is a good starting point from which to visit Valencia's old quarter or today's most fashionable shops.

The main square in the heart of valencia. Lots of activity and lots of restaurants and cafes. Although most of them were generally busy I would recommend exploring just off the square to eat as it will be cheaper and will provide fresh rather than...More

This is more administrative plaza then peoples natural venue spot. Despite many interesting buildings around it's not so popular during a day as there are very little shade places to take a rest (at least this is my impression). On the other hand the plaza...More

This plaza is home to the Town Hall, the main Post Office , banks, hotels, bars and restaurants and many other lovely buildings. It also has a beautiful fountain which, in the evening, is illuminated and changes colour and flow. During our stay there was...More

Our hotel was just off this plaza, and it was a beautiful place to walk and look at the stunning architecture. The fountain is cooling on a hot day too. They also sometimes have concerts there that are fun to watch.

Great selection of shops and government buildings. Amazing architecture. Buses to all points of Valencia. Not to be missed.

It is a busy and dirty place, also you don't have many benches to sit on, at the shade. Nevertheless, the buildings nearby are gorgeous (Cityhall, post office...).

I liked this plaza although I see a lot of bored reviews about how it's too normal. I think the Correos building is beautiful and not normal at all, could sit and look at it for a good while. Maybe it's cos when I first...More

This plaza is busy, especially for the traffic. Lovely central fountain and located in the old city.

we stopped at a small café next to the fountain and just chilled with a reasonably priced drink with a great view of the square watching the world go by.

It is a very nice square, where the Town Hall is, and very nice buildings. It is the ideal starting point for a tour of the city.
