The lagoon was very nice - we did not go out into it with a boat as the water was very choppy the day we we visited so the boat men did not come to the jetties located at the entrance of the lagoon. Great...More

Drive out of the city and go into the National Park of the Albufera, where water springs out and forms a lagoon, keeping the sweet water for ducks and herons so they can keep their hideouts during the spring and summer. See the water flow...More

A boat ride on the lake is well worth the 4 euros it cost. I've done it twice and both times were a relaxing way to spend 30 minutes watching birds seeing the fisherman at work.

Can anyone recommend a nice hotel in a village near or at the lagoon other than the Parador which is too much for our budget? Thanks in advance!!!

I would think that actually on one of the boat tours would be great, they go slow enough to get some good burst shot photos and you're right out on the water.
What are the hiking trails like? Are they paved?
