Thank you to my husband for driving. We travelled the coast road starting from the Naples side right around Sorrento, Positano, Praiano, Amalfi and through to Salerno. Absolutely fantastic, exciting, exhilarating, frightening (at times), hair raising, beautiful, fantastic........

One of the most beautiful drives/places in the world but you have to be a very confident driver to take on this route. So many bends, tunnels and hair pins it's impossible to drive fast, drive too slow and you'll get the locals tooting you from...More

Despite plenty of advice advising against driving we decided to hire a car and tour this beautiful coastline. We are seasoned travellers and drive across Europe every year but this is by far the most spectacular scenic route we have ever taken. Roads were narrow...More

If you like the tight blind corners, hairpins, steep inclines and descents, roads where you breathe in as the car passes in the opposite direction and a partner that's keeps saying ooh and wow at the breathtaking views and scenery this is the trip for...More

WOW...just wow. You must do it all, from Salerno to Sorento. Highlights Amalfi and Positano. It's just breathtaking sceneries all over. Hopefully you've rented a small car, parking it's impossible. Take an entire day to see Amalfi coast and if you have time I strongly...More

A really amazing meeting of sea, rocks and villages. Each building by itself is either mediocre or downright ugly, but put together they make an unbelievable ensemble. The drive is borderline dangerous, but the vistas highly rewarding (that's what others told me, I was the one...More

Drove this road from Sorrento to Positano on the last day in May. Got here around noon, and it was not too crowded. Mostly scooters and tiny cars. Stopped at one of the vistas where you can first see the Amalfi Coast in all its...More

This is one of the best, if not the best coastal drives in the world. It is spectacular. However, the road is narrow, busy with cars and buses, hundreds (it feels like hundreds) of blind corners, and passing in opposite directions often difficult sometimes impossible....More

The Amalfi coast is breath taking, but be warned it is extremely busy and the roads are a nightmare to drive because of the volume of traffic. We had a hire car and parking in any of the main towns along the coast was impossible....More

I was not expecting this drive to be as beautiful as it was. The views were spectacular with the very blue water and the cliffs. We stopped at a few of the vista points to take pictures. I highly recommend this drive.

Our car was $37 a day plus we spent about $60 on gas. It's a good drive.

Driving is ok but it is very twisty and with coaches and cars parked it can be challenging. We used a driver as it wasn't too expensive and he knew where to take us for the views etc

Hi - That is a lot of driving but certainly you could accomplish all you want to see along the Amalfi Coast in two days before heading back up north. That should give you enough time to do all the other things you... More
