You have to pass this road by bus, as we did (from Sorrento to Amalfi), in order to really enjoy the picturesque views it offers. The distance is 35-40 km but it took us 1.5 hours with just a couple of stops. It is a little crazy experience - narrow to very narrow at places; many turns / U-turns where... More

We spent a few days in Sorrento and wanted to explore a bit further afield We bought a bus ticket for 8 Euros which is valid on the SITA buses in the Sorrento Amalfi Positano Salerno campania region Great value , but not for the faint hearted.... Buses run frequently connecting the towns and villages , with most of the... More

My husband drove us along this road starting from sorrento and going all the way down to Salerno and then back again. Wow. That's about it. It's amazing. It's so beautiful. The views are some of the best views in the world. We stopped along the way taking photos and in the little towns to walk around. There were some... More

The coast is quite scenic with mesmerizing blue ocean. We took the 2 hr bus ride from Sorrento to Amalfi and back. If you cant stomach going on twisty roads, then dont take it. Its like 2 hr long roller coaster ride. Both Amalfi and Positana are quite scenic. The small lanes with market in Amalfi is quite beautiful. The views... More

Everyone tells you how. As this road is, and agreed you wouldn't want to drive it straight off the plane from England but having been driving around Europe and more recently Italy it is really no worse than a crowded Italian city. The road is narrow in places and you have to be careful but it's a great drive but... More

Despite the family not getting on. My memory of this place is lovely. I am so happy that I have been here and hope to see it again some day.

ITS A MUST SEE. My husband drove this entire mountain. Although it was scary, it is very doable if you pay attention. It was the most beautiful thing ever. We stopped along the roads and in the small towns...I cant say enough about this. This was one of the highlights of my vacation to Italy.

NEVER AGAIN will i travel these roads. Most parked cars are scratched, marked or dented without side mirrors from the mad / insane drivers that zoom around the tiny roads. A cliff drop of 1,000 plus feet on one side and rock wall on the other. Buses, coaches, motor bikes, cars and tourists all trying to negotiate the very thin... More

Amalfi coast was spectacular. Even from the beginning in Sorrento the landscape is incredible. And the road itself....almost cannot be described in words. All those curves and tight turns...incredible. The most interesting landscapes can be seen from the special prepared spots to pull over and watch the bay and mountain. The cities were a little bit expensive, but taking into... More
