When you arrive in Capri by boat, they all dock at the Marina Grande. And its absolute carnage! Bedlam. Get off the boat and get off the main marina thoroughfare as quick as you can is my advice. It's simply far too busy to enjoy anything. But the good news is a few short steps takes you off the marina... More

This is were most of the ferries dump you off, not much here to see accept shops and restaurants and of course those people hawking tours, I usually will walk up the long way up the hill or the cable car depending on our energy level. Bustling with loads of tourists, the later in the day you arrive the busier... More

Looking down on it from above Marina Grande is pretty, but on the ground its insane with an average day seeing 10,000 people shuffle through from ferries. It is the main entry and exit to Capri and as such is very touristy with only a few places to escape the touts and hustlers. On the water its all madness with... More

A beautiful little Marina with some interesting scenery. Just a shame it was spoilt by the crazy number of tourists, ticket and restaurant touts. Didn't hang around here too long.

We arrived on the ferry from Naples and stayed about 8 mins from the port. You'll see tons of tourists arriving from other nearby cities like Sorrento, Positano, etc. Then there're also lots of tourists getting on the island tour to Blue Grotto. Basically, it's a very busy port and lots of people will be asking you to either join... More

This is an arrival / departure point only. Incredibly busy with souvenir shops and a few cafes only. Don't waste your time here and make your way straight to Capri or Anacapri

Marina grande is where the ferries land. The funicular also arrives here from the main square, which is pretty cool. You can also book a boat tour around the island from here. I would take the funicular or the bus up to the main square if you want something to eat or drink, though.

Nice port town. I watched the pretty dark haired ticket window clerk shortchange 3 purchasers! Tickets are 1.80 euro. My friend stared her down when she gave him 2euros from a 20... She quicly gave him the missing 10 euro. My husband received .30 change from ten euros. When i returned and pointed to the change we received, she smiled... More

The main Marina in Capri. Beware of individuals trying to get you to take a tour on their own personal boats -- you're better off with one of the bigger companies unless you want to splurge on a private tour. Highly recommend using the local bus from here to anywhere in Capri instead of the taxis. It's only 1,80 Euro... More

This is a spot for "get on get off" the ferries ONLY! Take the funicular to the main town of Capri or bus up to Anacapri, but this port is nothing but a trap of crappy vendors selling over priced souvenirs and bad food. it is packed with thousands of people to the point you can hardly move. Everything is... More
