About 30 minutes walk you can for 6 euros to explore Villa Jovis. No place and beautiful views from the mountain. An interesting place to see while on Capri

The steep climb up to the villa is worthwhile as the viewsare great. However we were surprised to be charged €6 for admission. The walkways and information boards are not well maintained and the chapel is closed. On the way up a man tried to...More

No need for a guide, good signage from Capri town. Get map to ruins from tourist office in upper town, enjoy views of fabulous villa estates as well as over entire island. Entry fee to ruins is 6 Euro now, but worth it. Rick Steve's...More

The Romans were very clever with what they achieved. If you enjoy seeing ruins with well thought out plans include this. It costs €6 pp but includes an informative audio guide. We also did the 20 min walk across to Villa Lysis. You feel like...More

I've always heard that the Villa Jovis is rather disappointing, but we enjoyed it very much. There's enough left to imagine it being a substantial house, and the views are spectacular. Tiberius sure knew how to choose a building site. It only is a pity...More

The difficulty about this review is that historicly this site is very important because of the fact that emperor Tiberius spend more time on Capri than in Rome. On the other hand, allthough this a house of an emperor, there is nothing that reminds of...More

I did it! It's a very long uphill walk (tell me someone if you know exactly the number of miles). Near to the top, there's a ladies and men's room and mounted on the wall is a defibrillator! What goes up must come down. The...More

My friends and I decided to walk to Villa Jovis. Maybe a 30 minute walk not too difficult. You pay an entrance fee and get a mobile tour along with the price. It explained what you were looking at. While we were there Kevin Spacey...More

We were looking for something to do on an overcast, cooler day, and our hotel suggested walking up to this Villa. It's a bit of a hike, but it's beautiful, and the actual Villa is really cool to see. Worth it if you have a...More

A straightforward walk to get here. We used a free audio guide once we got there. Directional signage was missing in places and it wasn't always clear when to activate each section of the audio guide. The chapel at the top was not accessible. Flies...More

Mostly without cars but on occasion on the way up, it's a mix of sidewalks and streets. And as you'll find out, some large sidewalks are actually roads for tiny cars and motorcycles. Having said that, we saw maybe 5 cars and... More
