Well worth a visit - really interesting warren of buildings and cloisters, with old frescos and modern art (we'd never heard of Diefenbach but very interesting); and make sure you find your way to the garden for the lovely coastal views.

We walked a long way to go to the Certosa di San Giacomo only to find that its hours are constricted. What a disappointment!

This impressive structure, apparently the oldest on the island, built in the second half of the 14th century on a land donated to a local noble by the Queen of the Epoch, currently houses a secondary school (Liceo) and a museum that collects the works...More

This is the oldest historical building in the city, but one of the less loved it seems. It has the potential to be a very interesting attraction: a building from the 15th century has a history, why not tell about the way of life of...More

The visit was disappointing because of the fact that this partly 14th century building is mainly lacking maintenance, it looks quiet shabby. There was a exhibition of modern art from Arab artist. We thought, let's give it a chance. But unfortunately, not our cup of...More

For the ticket price of 8 EUR, the upkeeping of the place is not very nice. Garden is very unruly. Architecturally nothing amazing.

I can't fathom how they can charge to enter this site, there's nothing to see. The church offers very little, architecturally and it's by no means beautiful inside, they would be literally thousands of better churches to visit throughout Europe and Italy. I'm not sure...More

What a wonderful visit to La Certosa di San Giacomo! Lovely building and paintings, plenty enough to explore. We would highly recommend finding your way through to the garden where you'll be greeted with stunning coastal views of Capri. What a highlight!

What a lovely quiet spot when we visited the island of Capri. Not sure if the guided tours come or not but the peace and quiet was welcome. Lovely to wander around the church buildings and out into the garden area. The paintings on the...More
