This is the piazza that people pass by on their way to or from the ferry terminal. Towards the western end is Fontana del Nettuno. Closer to the eastern end is the new statue called Venere degli stracci hugging a 20 feet tall pile of clothes. You will not miss its posterior as you look towards the harbor.

Honestly speaking I’ve never thought this piazza was of a particular beauty or interest, but suddenly, thanks to the installation of the Chinese artist Liu Ruowang, it became very cool. The artwork is called “Wolves Coming” and consists of 100 iron wolves 280 kg each. It intends to represent the dangers which threatens, from a natural and a social point of view, the existence of the human race and consequently the work wants to encourage humanity to face adversity with courage and perseverance. I’ve read that this project was done in collaboration with Neapolitan artist Milot. Now, at this moment, they moved the wolves to Florence in front of Palazzo Pitti. Very cool.

Very large open square with what appears to be more Metro work going on. One end is the Municipality and the other end is the Maschio Angioino castle / Museum. The square has very little shade and seating so not very inviting

An unusual and extremely different Piazza due to the fact that it is here they have placed 100 iron wolves. This is a very busy Piazza as it is on the way to the Port where boat trips are available to Capri, Sorrento to name just a few. From the Piazza you can also see the Castle Nouvo. It is well worth visiting just to see and get a photo with the wolves. We found this Piazza as we were going on a walking tour of Naples and this was out meeting place

100 wolves of iron, of almost the weight three quintals each, have been placed in Piazza del Municipio to represent a beautiful and ferocious herd.

The Piazza del Municipio area is very close to Molo Beverello the port for boat trips to Sorrento, Capri and the other surrounding islands or Amalfi. It has an underground station, lots of nice small cafes and restaurants. The place is just a short walk to the main stop for the sightseeing bus tour which is quite hectic, but interesting. So it is a really central place for tourists.

Nice walk when exiting from the cruise terminal.
But this area is not really pedestrians easy or friendly, you might need to walk long detours before you can find a pedestrian crossing or do not expect do go somewhere on diect line walk.
And be careful with the scooter or any 2 wheelers, they drive wild even on the pavements. You have just to take care

Nice enough Piazza but a bit bland and empty. There is a great fountain here called Fontana del Nettuno that is worth seeing. There are good views of the port building from here.

There are 100 iron wolves in this public square making it an interesting spot for pictures. I would not recommend going out of your way just to see it but it is a unique landmark of the city created by an artist.

A lot of this area is Under reconstruction. However it’s a vast area and has a nice fountain. Recommended
