So well preserved could well be a decadent modern spa . Tub and heated tub and when tour parties leave could imagine being in a luxury hotel!

Adjacent to the Forum, this is a splendid example of Roman baths at their best. Divided into male and female sections, the tepidarium and caldarium in the male section are the most impressive parts with splendid frescoes and statues of figures holding up the ceiling.

The preservation of this area is amazing. And it is a wonder to see the architecture from so long ago. This is a must do if you like history. The bathing buildings are great. And seeing they had separate ones for men and women shows...More

The Roman ingenuity to create this amazing peace of engineering more than 2000 years ago, baffles me. And to have the chance to have them so well preserved as it has been found in Pompei a great bonus. Incredibly interesting

The public baths with its skylights, mosaics and statuary were superb. The highlight was seeing the ornate frescoes and the figurines holding up the ceiling.

all of Pompeii is amazing but areas such as these have such significance and anything to do with bathing was so important in that time period, in amazing condition for the age.

This was a very large bath house as I guess it had to be to accommodate all the people in the city. The markings on the walls and ceiling that have been restore give you a glimpse into what it must have been like those...More

The ancient bathhouse is incredibly well preserved, given the damage sustained by the city. The rooms have water piping and are divided into hot, cold, and steam rooms. There was even a sauna. No detail was overlooked; even the ceiling of the sauna was designed...More

Don't skip these baths! You get a really good impression of this very important aspect of Roman daily life. It looks like you can fold up your cloths, put them in a pigeonhole and take a bath.

The ruins are restored so that you can walk the ancient streets as the Pompeii residents did before the eruption on 79 AD, that destroyed their city. The frescos are still vibrant and beautiful. The walkways and hime remain to be viewed and enjoyed.

PS, if you don't have time to take taxi to train station and then wait for train, you can take taxi direct to Pompeii. It will take about 20 minutes. About 65 euros but you could split that with another person with you.
