The Baths of Trajan were constructed by the great architect Apollodorus of Damascus for Emperor Trajan right next to the smaller Baths of Titus. They were about the size of the Baths of Caracalla and the Baths of Diocletian which were built later. It is part of the Park of Colle Oppio. Only fragments survive within the park, mostly consisting of three great exedra. The baths are currently undergoing excavation and restoration, but are easily visible within the park. The structure was on a surface of almost one square kilometer on the south side of the hill, on a terrace that was partly on the Domus Aurea. Time for visit - 30 minutes.
