We strolled in Trastevere one afternoon and on the way out we came across this small square. Apparently you can get an amazing pizza at a nearby Taverna Trilussa but we weren't hungry at that point. I bet this piazza really comes alive in the...More

This relatively small Piazza Trilussa is surrounded by nice buildings and sights. It's name derives from the Italian dialect poet, Carlo Alberto Salustri (1873-1950), better known by his pen name of Trilussa. You'l find a monument to tribute him close to the square. Also there...More

To end a warm evening in Trastevere, sitting on the steps of the grand fountain in Piazza Trilussa, eating a gelato and watching the world go by, is magic.

Trastevere ("beyond the Tiber") is like a faded
postcard, a little worn around the edges but still
charming. With its wide-open piazzas, meandering
streets, weathered Renaissance buildings, and
overgrown personality, it's become an irresistible
mecca for visitors. Trastevere is an enclave of
entertainment - a rotating set of street performers
entertains almost every night, and unforgettable
