I can't put into words what it was like to be actually standing in the prison where the Apostle Paul wrote 2nd Timothy and the Apostle Peter wrote 2nd Peter as they both, at separate times, awaited their execution. "God hath not given us the...More

The price of admission to see Mamertine Prison is €10. The only form of payment acceptable is by card, no cash. Considering the fact that the prison consists of a small upper chamber and a smaller lower chamber (where the inmates were kept while waiting...More

Two of the most significant figures in the Bible, the apostles Paul and Peter, were imprisoned at this site. It really brings to life the significance of the times as early Christianity clashed with Rome. Pro Tip: the site is not open too late so...More

We had Omnia cards so did not have to pay an additional entrance fee. The prison is only small with a few cells but it is a very special place. It is humbling to be where Peter and Paul were once imprisoned. Its nice to...More

For me this was quite disappointing. We had the Omnia pass so didn't have to pay the entry fee. Not a great deal to see in the rooms. There are more worth while places to visit.

What an amazing experience! Being in the same room where the Apostle Paul was chained was absolutely a humbling experience.

10 Euro to see two rooms, a cell and some artefacts. Don’t bother. Interactive iPad tool had issues also.

This was a fascinating little museum and archaeology site. The video reconstructions of the site were mesmerizing and the exhibits were interesting. I was not interested in its biblical history, but I enjoyed it very much from an archaeological perspective. I also got the combination...More

They charge 10 EUR to visit the alleged prison of Peter and Paul, if they were imprisoned together and in this place. Just as a comparison the value of the joint entrance to the Colosseum, Palatine and Roman Forum is 12 EUR. In the Carceri...More

I only wish I had booked an evangelical Christian tour of Rome. We looked up and visited as many New Testament locations we could, but many lacked information and history. What great events took place in this horrible place. A fact that persecution only spreads...More
