We went there using metro, we stop at Ottaviano metro stop. After that we walked approximately 1km till the Vatican gates. On our way many agents approached as in order to issue a "skip the lines" ticket. We did it and it was the best thing that we did because we have to wait three hours for entrance only St.... More

Informative, well presented and well structured tour. Managed to give us a really good sense of a very large collection of art and historical buildings with just the right amount of information " There is so much to see inside the VM and the SC that you can easily miss the interesting bits and not see all of it. Our... More

We had ordered our tickets in advance of visiting Rome. We arrived at 9.30 by bus, which was fab because we walked straight into St. Peter's basilica without queuing. As I walked into this beautiful church the hairs on my neck stood up, stunning does not do it justice. Huge, colourful, fascinating and more. You could spend many hours in... More

Just got back from Rome where we visited the Vatican. Amazing is an understatement. However, be warned; the powers that be do not restrict the numbers of people they let in. We paid extra to "beat the queues" and still waited 45 minutes to get in! Then we were herded like sheep through the museums, Sistine Chapel and St Peters... More

Our guide Daniella I think thats her name was excellent, patient, informative, friendly, cant say enough about her and would definitely recommend her and the service again. We were a bit late to the meeting point, our fault, but she was waiting outside, she took us in, took her time explaining things, answered questions, highlighted all the key areas, and... More

My friend and I booked this tour prior to our recent visit to Rome. Our guide was Ilary (unsure of spelling) but the was so enthusastic about her job, the opportunity to show visitors the wonders of the Vatican and Sistine Chapel and was so knowledgeable about history and art I would highly recommend it. My only negative about the... More

Lindy was full of information and lots of fun to be with. The breakfast was really nice. Garden tour on open bus was terrific. We got to see the Vatican grounds not open to the public. She also brought us through the Vatican museum and Sistine chapel. This couldn't be a better tour, ending in St. Peter's.

Just wanted to say thank you for excellent service, time and effort. We booked early access skip line tickets with the company but our taxi driver left us near St Peters Square rather then near Vatican Museums entrance. We called them and their sent their staff to get us to the meeting place in time so we managed not to... More

Staying in Vatican / Borgo

Neighbourhood Profile
Vatican / Borgo
Frocked priests, colorful Swiss Guards, insistent souvenir shop owners, flag-waving tour guides, and pilgrims from around the world. This is the Vatican and Borgo, Rome's most recognized neighbourhood which acts as Vatican City's front yard. Aside from the souvenir boutiques and a few food spots, the only business conducted here is papal. In the daytime, the tiny medieval sector bustles with holy activity, as visitors vie for elbow room, or stand in line for a visit. Once the sun sets, the neighbourhood is transformed into a quiet and picturesque hamlet.
