A really fun tour, even better than i thought it would be. This was mostly due to Rob, our guide, who was entertaining, personable, theatrical and just a lot of fun. He balanced following the plot of the book with highlighting the real-life history of the sites. Outstanding job Rob!!!

A good way to spend the morning seeing lots of Rome in an entertaining way. It helps to have read book or seen movie to relate IMO but not necessary. Andrea was very knowledgeable although seemed to and admitted having an off day. There is more waiting around (for bus and such) than expected. I’m glad I did it.

A highly knowledgeable guide will guide you through the path taken by Robert Langdon through the streets of Rome in a nice air-conditioned bus (but there is some walking too). The cost was 56 euro per person and I think will worth it considering it includes entrance into Castel St. Angelo 8 euro, a cup of coffee, ride through rome in a nice bus, and an amazing tour.
The tour begins at the Chigi chapel in the Church of Santa Maria del Popolo. Here you can see the ACTUAL demon's hole (a circular covering that cover a tomb). The guide will point out the angel that is pointing toward the second altar of science: St. Mark's Basilica. You will then go there to see Wind which blows you to St. Maria della Vittoria. Next up is the Four Fountains and after you get a yummy coffee break, with the first drink (wine, beer, coffee, hot chocolate) covered by the tour. Lastly, the tour concludes at Castel St. Angelo.
For our tour, we had Louise. What's great about this tour is that you will learn about things you never knew before. For example, I had already gone to St. Mark's Basilica and the Four Fountains, but I didn't know where to look and what I was looking at. She also does an amazing job of separating fact from fiction (for example, the statue of the angel in the Chigi chapel is pointing at another statue; not toward St. Mark's Basilica). Lastly, she tells great stories that will give you all the historical context you need. She will answer any question and on the bus ride point out things. For example, she pointed out where Caesar was murdered, and that was a place where I had walked by everyday from my hotel. The tour brings alive Rome and arms you with the knowledge to understand what is around you and what you are looking at. She even taught us to recognize family crests so that when I went around Rome I could spot the Medici, etc. crests.

I bought an Angels and Demons Tour operated by GetYourGuide. I was looking forward to it because reviews were positive. Two hours before tour I received a message asking if I could postpone it, because the guide had a problem. I could not, it was my last day in Rome and asked if we could join another group. They said no and stopped answering. As I had no news, I decided to go to the meeting point, so that they wouldn´t say it was a no show. They never excused for the inconvenience, they never suggested refund, just left me in the void.
I tried to call, I wrote an email, I got no answers so far.
I´m astonished with the lack of professionalism and responsability shown by this operator. I could never disrecommend them enough

Being a fan of the film I thought this would be a giggle. And it was in degrees. What becomes apparent is that it’s designed to get you to major sights in Rome that you might otherwise miss if you don’t do any other tours. Having done 2 already, it was quite repetitious for us. Some clues are a bit odd and clearly been through an auto translate as they don’t read well in English. Enough to get the gist to move on. But as I say, it does get you around the main areas and gets you looking closely for the answers.

If you want to be a bit more adventurous, and would like to try and find the main locations in Dan Brown's novel - Angels & Demons - on your own (as I did), here are the main locations of the movie, and directions to find them. In addition, I have uploaded a picture that has all of the four main locations in one slide.
Earth. This is the location where one of the Cardinals was murdered when he was suffocated by dirt. It is in the Basilica Santa Maria del Popolo. The murder takes place near the clue of the statue of Habbakuk and the Angel which is in the small, Chigi Chapel which is to your left as you enter the basilica. The murder actually takes place below this little chapel but the hole to get there is in Brown’s imagination, I would assume. To get there, find your way to the Piazza del Popolo. It is located a northeast of the Vatican, and just west of the Villa Bourgese. The Santa Maria del Popolo basilica is on the north side of the piazza.
Air. This is the location where another of the Cardinals was murdered, this time by puncturing his lungs so he eventually could not breathe. The clue is the West Ponente marker which is on the ground surrounding the obelisk in St Peter’s Square.
Fire. This is where the third of the cardinals is murdered, this time by hanging above a fire set beneath him. This takes place in the Chiesa di Santa Maria della Vittoria, in the Cornaro Chapel. The clue is the Ecstacy of St. Theresa statue by Bernini. The Santa Maria della Vittoria is located on the northeast corner of the intersection of Via Leonida Bissolati and the Via Vente Settembre. This is in more or less central Rome, directly east of St. Peter’s and southeast of the Basilica Santa Maria del Popolo (Earth). It is also not far northeast of the Roma Termini – the main Metro station.
Water. This is where the murder of the fourth Cardinal was attempted, but foiled by Robert Langdon. It takes place in the water of the Fontana di Quartro Fuomi (the Fountain of Four Rivers). This fountain is located in the Piazza Navona and is the center of the three, separate fountains that are in Piazza Navona. The Piazza Navona is located southeast of St Peter’s and almost south of the Castel St Angelo which also plays a role in Angels & Demons. I got off the Hop On/Hop Off bus near Castel St Angelo and walked first to Piazza Navona and then continued on east to the Pantheon, yet another major location in the book. If you have some time and enjoy walking, the Trevi Fountain is not too much further northeast of the Pantheon.

Very few guided tours that we've ever been to have ever left us wanting more. The Angels and Demons Tour is exceptional in every way. It takes the book Angels and Demons by Dan Brown and animates it right in front of you at most of the locations mentioned in the book. You may be a person having not read the book/watched the movie, but it is perfectly fine. You will never feel left out. The Guides play an integral role in keeping the tourists exhilarated right till the end - something that is usually not seen in a tour that spans from 4-4.5 Hours. To abridge an entire book to the main plot points while still capturing the essence of the story is not a menial task. However the Guides have done a tremendous job at doing the same. This tour not only focusses on the story but gives you detailed interesting information about the respective place while at the same time not making it boring. One important aspect of this tour that made me give it 5 stars was our guide - Robert. A simple looking guy with so much potential and the ability to get everyone interested. He is the perfect amalgamation of a historian, actor and a guy with an awesome personality. He is a professional guy who feels just like a friend which is not usually seen in other 'One Dimensional' Guides. He is hospitable and never fails to add a tad-bit of humor here and there, thus making this tour - Enjoyable, Informative, Exhilarating and overall worth every penny. Inspite of it being a cold rainy day, if it weren't for him we wouldn't have enjoyed the tour so much.

Unfortunately fiction and fantasy will always trump reality.
If you are expecting a tour that says, "this is where Tom Hanks stood when this happened", you may be disappointed.
The movie was great with amazing locations. And the venue from the book is historically fascinating. But unfortunately most of the movie was not done in Rome so you won't recognize many of the locations.
Now for the tour.
They did everything they promised in the advertisement. The guide was funny and extremely well informed about the book and the historical locations. He was not rushed and the tour ran over in time because he wanted to get everything in. It was good value for the money and you got to see many varied locations in Rome that you might not otherwise visit.
I love visiting church's and these were amazing. The statue of the Ecstasy of Saint Teresa was the highlight. This church is out of the way and most people would probably not visit it.
Massimo, the guide, was outstanding.

Be prepared for a long tour with a lot of walking and stairs. With that note, this tour was excellent. Our guide took us on a treasure hunt following the clues in the book. The tour is fun even if you have not read the book or seen the movie; however, I recommend watching the movie as it helps to follow along with the various stops.

Angela is absolutely incredible. This your lady knows history and art history and covers not only the history of Rome but delves into the book and how certain spots in Rome play into Dan Brown’s book. We were so impressed with her knowledge and explanation that we will now go home and read the book! She was lots of fun, funny, and impressive. We will absolutely book more City Wonders tours when we come back to Rome and we will ask for Angela to be our guide! Great job Angela! This was a really fun tour!

Yes. It’s a fantastic tour even if you have not read the book.

Bij City Wonders, vroeger Dark Rome genaamd. Zij zijn de officiële organisatie door Robert langdon aangeduid om deze tour te organiseren, absolute aanrader.

City wonders only does tours on Tuesday and Friday. Anyone know of another company that does tours on Wednesday in July? Also, this is just a look at the Vatican correct? Does anyone know of any Angels and Demons tours that include the Vatican and Sistine Chapel?

Is this tour available 19th March to 21st March?
Written March 15, 2018
Need to check with the tour operator. But I would suggest, before taking this tour one must read the book "Angels & Demons" by Dan Brown and note down the various places and its corresponding events. Otherwise, Just roaming will not make things interesting. Happy journey.
