Mauricio was a wonderful guide and traveler for our travels in Lucca, Pisa, and Rome that came out of the cruise ports in Livorno and Civitavecchia. The guide was very informative, pleasant, and fun and met us at the ports. We had designed a personalized tour of these cities for four persons that allowed us to climb the tower in Pisa, the tower in Lucca, and to visit the Borghesi in Rome along with other traditional sights. I would highly recommend Mauricio but encourage you to book early as he fills up fast.

Mauricio’s services are excellent. He is very kind and courteous. We also used Paolo for a day trip to Florence. He was a very good driver and tour guide. They speak good English.

We went to many places in northern Italy with Mauricio and it was a wonderful trip. Rome - Firenze - Cinque Terre - Dolomites - Venezia - Milan - Lago di Como, Maurico knows those areas well, including where to eat! We stop whenever there's a nice spot to take pictures or just to enjoy the view, which is quite a lot to be frank, and Mauricio never complaint. Excellent driver and guide. Highly recommended!

We were picked up at our hotel in Rome by Mauricio and greeted with a pleasant smile and welcome by him. We knew this would be a full day of site seeing and we were concerned about making sure we were able to see Pompeii and Positano all in one day. Mauricio was the perfect blend of informative guide and time keeper who made sure we stayed on schedule while not being overbearing which allowed for us to have fun at every stop. Mauricio dropped us off in front of the entrance to Pompeii and walked briskly to a storefront to buy us water after he heard we had forgotten to bring some on our trip. A very nice gesture and one that shows that he wanted to make sure our experience was a good one. I recommend using Carratoni tours for your next trip to Italy!

Roberto gave us the most amazing private tour of Perugia. He is a fantastic safe driver, and has so much knowledge of Perugia. We loved every second and would highly recommend this tour company. The communication 10/10 and the lunch they organized at a family winery was SENSATIONAL - couldn’t be happier! THANKYOU so much!

Since the beginning he was there in time with a sign and very nice attire very professional. He explained to us every little detail about Rome. He made the trip so fun. He told us words in italian. Listen to local music. While getting to Rome he tols us a summary of the places we were going to visit amd ask is what were our interests. The cars are awesome and new and with air conditioner and they are so nice and responsible and brought us back to the ship on time. Speak several language. Spanish, english, italian, etc.
Took us to lunch to an excellent restaurant. 5 stars. When I return I will contact him again to use his services

Took a day long tour with Mauricio. He drove us to Positano, Sorrento and Pompeii. Very knowledgeable about the places we visited. What a great way to venture outside of Rome for the day! Well worth the price! Thanks Mauricio!

There was no way I was going to spend another day roasting in a slow moving hoho moving oven bus,and having to walk long distances to each attraction in the sweltering heat.
It was just my lucky day that I found this company while sitting in a sweltering Hotel Piemonte foyer and googling airconditioned tours of Rome.
Wow.Impressive from first contact.Prompt responses from Tamao,answering all my numerous questions by email,until I was satisfied,and confirmed with him for an afternoon tour.No deposit or credit card details.Immediate answers and confirmation and pick up all within an hour.Some of the Rome tour companies I contacted,sent me automated email responses thanking me for my query and notifying me they will respond.My holiday is over I am back home,and they have still not responded.
Mauricio,our excellent driver and tour guide was waiting for us in a shining new black Mercedes,dressed professionally.He was patient while our kids were a bit late getting to the car.He was friendly,and interesting without being intrusive or over bearing.
We were beginning to feel that Rome was just all heat,sweat,grime,scammers and pick pockets.But Mauricio really made Rome come alive in such a comfortable,interesting way.Showing us the best places for gelato/pizza and all the other touristy "must do's".Nothing was too much trouble for him,and we felt really taken care of.
He stopped right up at the attractions.We drove down narrow streets that buses would definitely not be allowed to.He opened and closed doors for us,took photos,told us about the places without boring us to death with a history lecture.He also showed us an interesting feature at the Embassy of Malta,where you stand in Italy,look through the Maltese Embassy gate (which is technically Maltese territory) and you can see the Vatican (which is an independent state).Hence you "see" 3 countries all at once.It was an interesting anomaly which he took the initiative to show us,and it made things more interesting.He showed us the nicer,cleaner parts of Rome and took us to vantage view points that we would not have known about if we had done things on our own.
This was the best thing we did.I can't recommend it enough.It is worth every cent.Its a pity we did not know about them earlier.
If you are travelling with family,and if anyone has any health or mobility issues like asthma,angina,arthritis etc,this is the best way to see Rome in comfort,and it is really affordable.

I found about Carratoni tours from Cruisecritic.com. What a great find! He and his other drivers were professional and gave a great tour of the city. Always prompt. I had arranged for 15 of us to travel to Rome and then take a Mediterranean cruise from Civitavecchia. I had arranged in advance for our group to stop in Ostia Antica for some sightseeing on the way to the port. Mauricio's prices were great, including a couple of hours for the extra stop. Great prices, great tours, great service! I will definitely be using him for future clients.

hi, we're staying at Hotel Piazza Venezia for 3 nights Oct 16-18, then going to port Oct 19 for Mediterranean cruise. what tours do you recommend for us if we'd like to see the Vatican and Colliseum, St. Peters Basillica, etc. We can do sights around Pantheon on our own??
