We had a nice walk through Rome in the evening. Many interesting stories about Roman culture and food and even more important lots of stops to try typical Roman food at some places only known to the locals. Our charming and very well educated guide Evan gave us a great time. Definetly worth the money and a great way to... More

We did this tour a week and a half ago. My family of 4 (2 adult children) love food! It ended up as a private tour and our guide, Christian, was absolutely wonderful! He has an immense knowledge of Roman history, food and wine. We tried so many wonderful dishes, things we would have never known about and loved every... More

Went on a "morning food and marked walk" with Evan as our guide. Perfect way to explore some of the hidden gems in Rome.. Visiting small espresso bar, bakeries, charcuterie, restaurant etc. and also got to know some of the old history of Rome. We enjoyed every bit of the tour. Thank You!

Me & my fiancé did the night food tour and we both had a great time! Evan, the guide, was very knowledgeable and made the whole experience fun and light-hearted. We've never done a tour like this before, but were very glad we did! We went to several places we'd never dare venture, and tried things we'd never think to... More

First off, the guide can make or break a tour like this. We have done these in many cities and Kristian was by far the best guide we have had on any of our food tours. What made Kristian stand out was the way he blended Roman history with the food and wine of Rome. He created a 4 hour... More

This tour was recommended to me by a friend who's daughter had done it during a trip to Rome. Since it was my first time to Rome and I was traveling with a friend who had never been either I thought the tour would be great to do to familiarize us with the city. We did the Evening Street Cuisine... More

While in Rome for 4 days, our desk clerk at the Rome River Inn recommended this tour and made us a reservation - we had never heard of it and were pleased we were able to get a reservation with such short notice. My friend and I are both foodies and this tour sounded interesting and not terribly expensive. We... More

Staying in Monteverde

Neighbourhood Profile
Monteverde
Above the city on the Janiculum hill, Monteverde is Rome’s popular "getaway" neighbourhood, coveted for its greenery. Rome's largest urban park, Villa Pamphili, is the area's centrepiece with affordable prices and peace and quiet. Monteverde is just far enough away from the centre to feel like you’re on a Roman holiday and close enough to feel the lure of Rome's chaos. Though its downside is the lack of scheduled public transport, this family-oriented area is literally a well-deserved walk in the park.
