This lovely palazzo, located in Trastevere, was built by the Corsini family between 1730-1740. Queen Christina of Sweden also lived here from 1659-1689. The gallery is filled with masterpieces (among them works by Caravaggio, Murillo, Reni, Rubens, etc.). My two personal favorites are The Tribute...More

It only cost me and my wife 7 euros to enter the gallery, because EU citizents get the price reduced. Also if you are under 25. There was a lot to look at but but so much that it took a long time. We walked...More

Deliberately went here for the Judith and Holofernes piece. That was worth it but the rest is rather disappointing, most of the rooms were closed off and the museum wasn't cheap. Additionally, it was cash only? I really think cash only establishments are restricting themselves...More

We decided to try galleria Corsini after our wonderful visit to Galleria Barberini. What a disappointment, most of the masterpieces where on loan and substituted by second rate works. We only could enjoy a Reni's Saint John the Baptist. I would like them to inform...More

A wonderful palace with enough to not be overwhelming or tiring, but impressive and enjoyable. Afterwards, get drinks across the street and sit on the grass in front of the palace. An enjoyable and straight walk to Trevi from here . One of my favorite...More

We visited here after touring Villa Farnesina across the street. We had trouble finding this Galleria, though our map showed it in a large building. We couldn't see any signs outside the building, nor were there any immediately inside. We got on an elevator, which...More

I would only recommend this place if you've already visited most of the other Palazzos and Museums in Rome. This used to be the home of a wealthy papal family and therefore they have several paintings and artworks - I specially loved the antique throne....More

Palazzo Corsini houses an impressive collection of "ancient art." Go for the over the top decorations of the walls and ceilings as well as the art. They have Rubens, Caravaggios and mostly other Italian artists but the collection as a whole is so worthwhile. Remarkably...More

Much like Palazzo Barberini, the Corsini is not crowded with tourists, but is crowded with world class art. This is a very special museum for those wanting to quietly engage with some of the best art from the Renaissance on....and with no crowds to destroy...More

The Galleria Nazionale d'Arte Antica di Palazzo Corsini is an art gallery housed in a lovely palazzo. The masterpiece of the collection is a St. John the Baptist by Caravaggio, but there are some other worthy works of art as well. Large laminated cards for...More

Trastevere ("beyond the Tiber") is like a faded
postcard, a little worn around the edges but still
charming. With its wide-open piazzas, meandering
streets, weathered Renaissance buildings, and
overgrown personality, it's become an irresistible
mecca for visitors. Trastevere is an enclave of
entertainment - a rotating set of street performers
entertains almost every night, and unforgettable
