National Museum of Palazzo Venezia is located on Piazza Venezia. It is a large structure and worth to buy ticket to have a view inside. The displays range from Middle Ages to Renaissance. Recommended if you have time.

If you're travelling to Rome don't forget to visit Palazzo Venezia. Its history dates back to the Middle Ages and this is where the Popes would reside in the Renaissance. Great works of art by Giorgione, Guercino, Carlo Maratta, Vasari as well as byzantine ivories

We found out about this place from the ticket office in Piazza Venetia, because it was included in the 10€ price of the elevator ticket. It's quite a big museum, and you can get an audio guide for free. However, this includes information about the...More

As I wrote in the review of Castel S.Angelo, that ticket also covers the entrance to this museum, provided you use it within one week. The museum is probably not so famous: the morning we went we were just a few visitors. It houses interesting...More

Museo Nazionale di Palazzo di Venezia is an interesting museum, particularly if you have never visited another museum and are unlikely to ever visit another. The building itself, however, is much more interesting. Also the areas in the vicinity of the museum would be more...More

Palazzo Venezia has a rather long and interesting history. It sits opposite the Altare della Patria, or the Vittorio Emanuele II Monument, in Piazza Venezia. It's a 15th century building where the pope's representatives in the area, the cardinals, would live. It was eventually "given"...More
