I didn't visit any bars as cool and chic as Salotto 42 while on vacation in Rome. A few blocks off the beaten path from the Pantheon, this bar is the kind of place that you don't just stumble upon as a tourist. It's the type of spot that a friend would recommend you visit. The staff was super attractive,... More

From a tourist's standpoint it was a welcome change from standard Trattoria selections. Great Music and Drinks- we showed up for brunch on Sunday and had different exciting options for their version of spritz, (fantastic cocktail options too) and food, pasta and salad options were available in several varieties also great coffee and baked sweets. Cool inside and friendly helpful... More

Arrived at around 10.30pm with my wife to what was an empty bar inside with security and some others outside. The security told us it was reservations only before saying something to a group of women beside him and all of them proceeding to basically laugh in our face. We have no issues if it genuinely is a reservations only... More

10 minutes to pay staying in line and other 15 minutes to wait for the cocktail standing in a very little space while waiters were passing by. When I asked for my cocktail (18€ for a gin tonic) the waiter was already bored and after I had asked that the gin was to less he poured it in the jigger... More

A friend and I visited tonight, wanting a couple of cocktails and not hungry enough for a big meal, we thought we would try the aperitivo here. We were seated and given a plate of mixed canapés (meat, fish and veg) and we ordered cocktails (approx 10 euro each). At the bar were plates of other canapé type food which... More

You go there to have a good drink. I went there for a mojito. Be careful. Pre-dinner comes with some good finger food..very quiet, good for rest after a day of work (like mine) or a day of museums and arts..Piazza di Pietra is a few steps from busy Piazza del Pantheon and you have a feeling of the life... This is a nice bar that attracts a local crowd. Centrally situated between Trevi and Pantheon and also has a large outside drinking area, so great on a warm evening. Would advise to book if you want a seat/table.

It is a necessity to write my review about my tonight's experience (April 7) at this bar... I reserved a table at this bar with my 5 friends, we were 6 girls in total in our thirties visiting Rome for the weekend. We arrived at 11.30 and started having fun. We ordered our first round of drinks and then our... More

Staying in Colonna

Neighbourhood Profile
Frantic fashionistas, pedicured politicos, goal-oriented tourists, and on-the-go locals cross paths every day in Colonna, a delightful chaos in the very centre of the city. Even though it has some of the city’s loveliest sites—a 2nd century column, Belle Epoque shopping centre, and a magnificent Baroque parliament building—Colonna is not just another pretty face, but the cosmopolitan eye of Rome’s cultural storm. Colonna can safely say it has the best of Rome: museums, boutiques, window displays, restaurants, cafes, and people watching.
