About
The Orchestra I Virtuosi dell'opera di Roma was created in 1999 by the cultural association Musica&Musica and it is now recognized as the first example of private concert organization unfunded by public moneys. The founding members goal was to create a musical ensemble prone to perform lyrical opera and for this reason they have selected only the best members of the most prestigious Italian conservatories. From the beginning directed by M° Adriano Melchiorre, famous international director, the Orchestra gets itself noticed in the main Italian and European concerts and festivals. From 2001 the concert seasons of the Orchestra of I Virtuosi dell'opera di Roma are in Rome, mondial capital of "bel canto", and offer every year to thousands of spectators the possibility to be in contact with lyrical opera and its fascinating culture which make it the ambassador of the Italian spirit in the world.

Wonderful opera with a very talented cast. Held in a quaint and serene church. Perfect evening out without being too fancy. My headband and I wore smart casual and felt appropriate.

An absolute joy to see this wonderful presentation just couple of blocks from our hotel in Rome.
An extra plus was that the venue was the Anglican English community of which I am a member.
Keep up the fine presentations!!

The baritone, soprano and tenor were unbelievably talented!! The evening was so enjoyable. I loved it. I can highly recommend this concert, the performers are of such a high standard, truly gifted. This was a most enjoyable evening in an amazingly evocative setting. The well balanced programme was delivered very professionally by both the singers and instrumentalists. There was a good interaction with the large audience that added much to the enjoyment of the concert. Highly recommended.

A fantastic opera, the acoustics of the St Paul's Church are amazing. Great performance, the singers, the musicians were all really good. The church is easy to find. The seating is basic plastic chairs but that's ok, comfortable enough with three intervals

Excellent, wonderful singing & performance in the heart of Rome- cannot be any better to see Verdi's best La Traviata. Make our trip to Italy more special. Thank you

We opted for the VIP tickets and they were worth the extra cost. We sat right at the front, it was incredible. Although it had been raining it was still very warm so take a fan.
Amazing setting for an opera. This was our first time and if I visit Rome again I’d go back. Couple of tips…. Don’t try and move seats to a better section above what you’ve paid for. The staff will just tell you to move, I think the couple of people that tried it are probably still embarrassed. Check what is on as they have different operas in the same church on different nights.

We are opera fans living in Santa Fe, so we've learned to love opera's greatest hits. An enjoyable evening of music, good feeling, and spectacular surroundings in Edward Burne-Jones' strikingly beautiful mosaic decorated church.
