You can't visit Rome and not go to the Colosseum. You can still see it all with or without a guided tour but I would recommend a tour guide for Palatine Hill as there are lots of interesting facts and dates to learn about it...More

Only looked from the outside however a piece of outstanding architecture. Directly adjacent top the Roman Ruins its well worth a visit.

This history surrounding the Piazza Venezia is amazing and a visit is more than worth it. Not as crowded as some of the other attractions.

The attractions truly are fantastic, my favourites were the Vatican and the Trevi fountain. Besides the listed attractions, there are churches everywhere that have their doors open for people to walk-in free of charge. These are a must and are truly breathtaking .

You can stay at the Hotel Quirinale. It is very close to al the big attractions, coliseum, forum etc. Nice breakfast too. Rooms can be very small but I don't spend any time except to sleep there.
