Piazza San Silvestro is unlike many other piazzas, in that it lacks a ... fountain! It is largish in size, by Italian standards, and it has several spots where people can actually sit and have a rest! It seems to be rather quiet at times,...More

Having spent a lovey time in Rome it was so disappointing to go to this total rip off 46 Euros for 4 coffee's The Rome Tourist office should have a word with the owners because this place lets Rome down.

Very central, and not crowded. Many possibilities for sitting down and just watch people passing by.

STOP: Do not eat or drink here. It's a ***TOURIST TRAP***. Two adult diners, one child diner. We were charged 75 Euros for a lunchtime snack! I had a three cheese pizza. This showed on the menu as 13 Euros which seemed reasonable. That's how...More

I lost count of the number of times we stopped in this piazza. Most of the time we visited it was bathed in sunshine. A lovely place to stop and get ones bearings.

Gerard personally met us and helped size and fit for me a beautiful soft lamb moto - style jacket; husband got soft shearling gloves... a huge huge selection of all colors and sizes. Very patient with our questions and well worth our time.

This used to be a bus hub, but was recently changed into a pedestrian only piazza. So, it is certainly a lot nicer than it used to be! There are several churches in the area worth seeing -- San Silvestro in Capite being right on...More
