My daughter and I had a wonderful day walking around Villa Adriana. I had no idea how large an area this villa was going to cover. The view is breathtaking. No wonder Hadrian built his villa here.

Love this place, my second visit in 2 years and I must say it still wowed me as much as the first time, if not more. This is a vast place to visit, give it more than an hour or two, if you love ancient...More

The place really deserves a visit: it's the house of Emperor Adriano, overlooking Rome from Tivoli hills However the place is the witness of all the problems Italy has in preserving its spectacular heritage of Ancient Rome culture and archaeological sites. The gardens are in...More

Last minute visit, huge place, fantastic buildings. Probably needs better signage and information boards but well worth a visit.

This is can easily be part of a day trip outside Rome. Very spectacular site of ruins of Hadrian's villa, complemented by several models, drawings, and maps. Detailed descriptions on Plaques at major points. Wonderful pools and olive groves. A lot of easy walking on...More

We had to Ask a lot of people about the bus, because the Tourist Office were closed, but managed to Get there. As always in Italy we wondered why it seems so difficult to mark the fermatas with the schedules. The place is so impressive...More

If you have any interest in history you'll find Villa Adriana interesting. Even if you don't you should find it impressive. As others have mentioned, there are some rougher areas and it doesn't have the most refined infrastructure, still it's an incredible site. I recommend...More

We were there Easter and it was not too crowded, The bus schedule was confusing and we ended up taking a taxi after waiting an hour. The archeological site itself had fairly good information on signs, but the audio guide numbers were often badly weathered...More

If you want to escape the heat and noise of Rome and still get to see the architecture and ruins without the pace and mayhem villa adriana is a great stop. We came years ago without kids and actually got less from the trip than...More

Hi, I am really torn between doing Hadrian's villa under my own steam v is public transport or to do a day tour that includes villa Este. I was looking at booking through viator but can't get a sense of how big the tour groups are plus I'm not sure if a couple of hours would be enough? Any comments to help me decide? Thanks!
