The most beautiful work inside St. Peter's Cathedral is Michelangelo's famous La Pietà, considered by many to be the most moving piece of sculpture ever created.

This statue is beyond beautiful. I had a statue of the pieta when I was a child and always loved it. I always wanted to see the original and was finally able to and it is more beautiful than I could have imagined.

When you visit the Vatican, take the time to see this famous sculpture by Michelangelo. Situated in the corner and protected by glass, a masterpiece.

Beautifully crafted sculpture. Detail is amazing. It's been set behind a structure to keep it safe as it was damaged by vandals in the past.

Not to sound like a snob but you really can feel the emotion of this piece. If you’re into art (probably even if you’re not) it’s a must see!

Only a man of genius could do this with a lump of marble. Only an artist of genius could convey emotion - loss, pain, pity, sorrow, maternal love - so completely.

There are a few must see sculptures in Italy and this is definitely one. There are a few La Pietas around Rome and Florence but this is the one that you must see in the Basilica.

Historical Museum - Carriage Pavilion at the Vatican is more than mesmerising. It contains saddles, carriages, automobiles and sedan chairs used by various Popes.
