This sculpture alone is worth the price of admission. It looks like it’s been carved out of a silky butter. Truly beautiful.

One of Michelangelo’s most famous and revered monuments. Such a beautiful work of art. A must-visit while inside the Vatican.

A deeply moving experience of Christ s crucifiction. The gentle curves of Mother Marys gown and expression of sadness is heartfelt.

Yes this is another Michelangelo masterpiece. Once open and exposed, now behind bulletproof glass. The detail and realism of the statue is stunning. Beautiful marble. Like everything else in St. Peter’s Basilica, this is a bucket list item to see.

I was so excited to see this masterpiece of Michaelangelo. Coupled with his Sistine Chapel and the Dome of St. Peter's, here you can see the great works of this true Renaissance man. Well worth the visit!

It is a shame about the glass protection in front of La Pieta, making it impossible to see up close or take decent photographs - but understandable following the attack by some lunatic. Incredible that this was carved by 24 year old Michelangelo.
