This visit will not just show you were Raffaello was born and grew. His father (famous painter himself) and his mother, when married, joined the two mansions together. Therefore a visit will make you understand what is behind closed doors. A lot of antiques, and...More

The house is in fact two houses. The rear one was owned by Raphael's mother and the front won was bought after her marriage. It gives a good idea of life in a renaissance middle-class house but contains nothing of Raphael himself. There are reproductions...More

The house is fantastic to wander around and to breathe the medieval atmosphere. It is a walk on the pages of history. The few items there are enough to give us a glimpse into their lifestyle. Ticket is only €3,50 and there are no originals...More

Even for a no history lover a must see, if in the vicinity. Even though most works are copies, you get the goosebumps when you realise that you are in the place where one of the greatest Renaissance artists commenced his route into immortality. The...More

Worth stopping by for a few minutes since it's close to the central piazza. It's a large house. Most interesting to me was the kitchen with a pulley powered spit for roasting meets in the fireplace. Nothing in the house of artistic merit.

The medieval house where Raphael was born and raised, which has been restored into a typical house / layout of the period. Spread over three floors and with pictures and exhibits inside, worth the 3.50 euro admission.

This is typical XV century building, nothing very attractive, but great to visit because of Raphael lived here up to the age 14.

This house is on one of the main streets in Urbino. There is very little to show that it is actually the house where Rafael grew up, but it is a very good example of a typical town house of that period.

I'm sure the house would have been fantastic to see but unfortunately the times listed on their website didn't correspond to the times it was actually open. There was a sign outside saying it was open in the mornings until 1300, whereas the website implied...More
