So I met Alessandro at the NY Travel show last November; his booth was very popular and he's a "big" personality - when I mentioned my family would be in Bologna in May, he insisted that we try out his Food Experience tour. There was very detailed info preceding the tour by email and all questions were answered, and accommodations... More

We started the day with a tour of the parmigiana place, where we enjoyed fresh parmigiana, wine, pastries, and wine. Then off too remarkable history and tasting of "real" balsamic, and... More

What a day !! Picked up from hotel in lovely minibus with knowledgeable driver ( Marco). First visit to see Parmesan made is terrific - seeing the process stages throughout the morning - followed by a cracking breakfast ! Next 2 visits to balsamic vinegar production and prosciutto ham are equally interesting with the chance to buy / sample real... More

A friend and I went to the Bologna Tourist Office for a recommendation for a tour into the country to see some foods being produced. She suggested Italian Days and we still can't believe how great this tour was. Alessandro was our guide and he owns the tour company. He is funny, incredibly well informed, paid attention to everyone and... More

Parmigiana Cheese, Balsamic Vinegar and Prosciutto ham - what more could you need to make a day? Finding out how all these products are made was fascinating and our guide Eleanora was so enthusiastic! For me, the highlight was where Balsamic vinegar was made and the opportunity to taste from the amazing old bottles and be told of the family... More
