We stayed at Casa Ilaria and the owner, Ilaria, gave us an amazing and fun filled experience in making traditional Bolognese food. She was charming, friendly and a really good teacher. The lesson took place in her beautifully fitted stainless steel kitchen with a large island bench, We made basic pasta (not as easy as it looks!) but she was... More

We had a great cooking class and learned quite a lot about Bolognese cooking with Ilaria at the kitchen of her B&B. Making pasta from scratch and rolling it to paper thin was definitely a new experience for us. We felt like we were invited to cook at an Italian family home - cooking & eating what they would be... My wife and I took Ilaria's Boulogne see cooking class. We learned how to make pasta by rolling pin, Bolognese sauce, meatballs and stuffed zucchini. The instruction was excellent along with a healthy dose of regional food customs and specialties. Best of all we sat down and ate the results. YUMMY!!

Lasagna was the first "special" dish I learned to make. Lots of garlic, lots of tomato sauce, cottage cheese, and a ton of ooey, gooey mozzarella. Yum! On a recent trip to Bologna, the concierge recommended Ilaria De Fidio of Bologna Gourmet for authentic Bolognase cooking lessons. Her school is in her lovely, central B&B. Two of us took her... We love food with great passion, in both cooking and eating. So when my girlfriends and I started our gastronomic tour of Italy, we were advised to include a cooking class in Italy’s gourmet capital, Bologna. We have attended many a cooking classes, including Master classes of renowned celebrity chefs. So months ahead of our trip, when customizing our cooking... More

In October 2012 I had the great pleasure to both stay at Casa Ilaria B&B as well as take the cooking class and tours of Bologna, Modena, and Parma with Ilaria. Two big thumbs up for everything! I arrived early on a train from Padova where I was staying. I checked in to my AMAZING room then rushed off to... More

I took a cooking course with Ilaria today and it was absolutely marvellous, could not have been better. We learned how to make the dough for the pasta, then made colored pasta, tortellini al burro e salvia and ravioli and tagliatelle with 2 different sauces. And for dessert a wonderful panna cotta . Ilaria is a great, very patient and... More

My husband and I had a wonderful 2-day experience arranged by Ilaria. On day 1, she drove us to a Prociutto di Modena factory, a small artisanal balsamic vinegar farm and a castle. Lots of good talk about the local food products. The next morning, she arranged for a grad student in art history to give us a private walking... More

We (my wife and I) had a class with Ilaria last week. Her class had originally not been our first choice, but others were not available on our dates...and now I'm glad that was so! Ilaria herself is very friendly and animated; we quickly felt as if we had known her longer. In a way, it was less like a... More
