As it's free (except for a €2 donation to take pics) you have no reason not to go here. It is just massive inside! Take your time and relax to get the real benefit.

Takes me back to enjoying Phineas and Ferb Across the 2nd Dimension movie when the stepbrothers enter a gloomy alternate universe controlled by an evil scientist... Remember, the evil scientist banned all things related to summer. Phineas and Ferb Summer song is pure bliss! Perry the Platypus shines! I did not realize it immediately but I must have put on... Not just another Basilica it had been, but a place where I found a sense of tranquility and peace in the metropolitan city of Bologna. When I wanted an escape from a busy daily routine, I went there to find solace. And if you are clicking pics inside, you are supposed to pay a little amount and ask for permission.

Construction for this church began in the late 1300's, but was never completed. Look for the largest sundial found in an enclosed area. There is a spectacular crucifix hanging above the main altar. You will see many beautiful frescoes. Well worth a visit.

When in the heart of Bologna, this is a good place to have a look. It is a functioning Catholic Basilica, so please use the appropriate amount of respect and keep voices and unnecessary noise to a minimum. There is no admission fee. Donations are accepted. Note: To take photos, a permit is sold for a small price. Well worth... More

Very nice Piazza. Not crowded in February. Probably very busy in warmer weather. Nice to stroll around and lots of posh shopping not far from the Piazza.
