For those that follow my reviews you know I like to visit botanical gardens. Located in a walkable distance from the city centre on the university campus, the garden is small and needs a lot of work but has potential if invested in. They don't charge a fee but a donation tin is at the entrance. A number of staff... More

This botanical garden is part of the University of Bologna, but not a patch on the great botanical gardens associated with some British universities such as Cambridge. On the other hand it is free so worth a visit if you have time to kill.

We took a walk to the gardens which are free to enter and on a day when it was 38' the trees gave lovely shade. The gardens aren't huge, we spent an hour and a half walking them. Small but nice botanical garden worth walking in if you visited the Museum of Mineralogy and other places near the university.

It was a long walk to get there no good if your a wheel chair user you can't get through the gate he had to get out of the chair and collapse the chair to get in! It's a very sad and neglected lots of weeds and over grown plants, not worth the effort of getting there. Cute frogs on... More

I love to visit gardens but the was very disappointing, not worth a visit. There are many other places to visit before you consider visiting this.

Whenever I visit a major city I make a beeline for the botanic gardens, as they are often beautiful, exotic and tranquil places to visit. This year there has been a major drought in Bologna, so I'm sure the gardens have suffered because of it, but they were very weedy and dishevelled looking too. The main glasshouse full of cactus...
