But because of massive traffic because of May 1 Parade, we couldn't get there. So we went here instead, it's OK and the views are alright ...the cathedral was the best part. Long walk down.

You can't beat the 3 Euro Entrance fee for getting to see the views of Trieste and experiencing the Roman/Italian/Austria-Hungarian Fortress and Church since the 200 BC. Visit the Underground to see Lots of History and Facades/Statues/. Can be a little warm in Summer, but...More

Climbed many steps but beautiful views and worth the effort. Good value at 3e a person and the cathedral and Roman ruins ( forum) are close by.

The best choice is to take the elevator into the parking backside Unità square. Then go downhill by feet in around 10 minutes. The bus ticket in 2017 is 1,25 euros for 60'
