We were lucky to find the museum as we were following an outdated map. It is now conveniently located in the centre of the city in a beautifully converted building. Allow at least two hours to explore everything.Air conditioning enhanced a most enjoyable experience.

This is a nice piece of well-preserved house with a long history and yet it is now the home of contemporary art. While keeping some archeological remains, the interior design of exhibition space is very modern. With its excellent location in the city centre, it is a nice place for art lovers to spend their time here.

I visited it the first sunday of the month because it is free. It was a great surprise to find there a lot of paintings and I discovered paints of De Chirico, Picasso and others great painters. I worth a visit.

I enjoyed my hour exploring the museum. It is not huge but there are some interesting pieces from Italy and the US and the building itself is fascinating, with original murals on show as well as some of the rooms still as they were when it was a house in the 1930s.

This gallery currently hosts an exhibit on Tina Minotti,an Italian beauty born in Udine who became a photographer in Mexico in the 1920's with strong communist leanings. The permanent collection of modern art is non descript but includes a few paintings of de Chirico. The Gallery itself is state of the art and some rooms show remnants of old frescoes.

The museum itself is the result of the transformation of an existing historical building by leading Italian architect Gae Aulenti. The result is well worth a visit and I spent about 2 hours here, hardly any other visitors were present which is a pity. Modern sculpture and art works are displayed along side 14th century affrescos. Great lighting to help... More

For large paitings is not good because there aren't big walls. Nice recovery excavations but don't expect you a mega museum. You can visit up to nine/ten during evening, good.

For a ticket price of 5 euros, you get to experience the work of 19th century artists in its best preserved form. This musuem actually includes the home of Cavazzini. The staff are very polite and can explain the history of any art on display. Recommended for art lovers.

Casa Cavazzini is located at Via Cavour- right at the heart of Udine, 5-10 minutes walk from anywhere you are in town. While you are there, it is also very convenient to visit Castello di Udine, Piazza Liberta, Piazza Matteotti, Museo del Duomo and the cathedral itself, all 5 minutes apart from one another. The ground floor is for temporary... More
