Church of San Giovanni Battista is the main church of Riomaggiore, one of the five towns located in Cinque Terre National Park, in La Spezia. It is a nice church located in the center of the old town. We could not enter here because it was closed, so we only saw it from outside. Next time.

When in Riamaggoire you can check out this pretty 14th century Church of Saint John the Baptist on your way up or down the hill. It was originally constructed in 1340 and had some renovation work completed in the 1800s.

Lovely views from the square outside. The church is very beautiful, and was empty on the rainy day when I was there. There is a lift connecting the square in front of the church up to the upper road that leads to the castle.

It's where TripAdvisor says it is and it has some intrigue, but it's more just a historical church than some sort of attraction. The view from up here, and from the castle, is nice, but the buildings themselves are not particularly worthwhile as attractions.

This is just a simple church, both inside and outside. If you hike up Via Pecunia, you will be rewarded with great views of the historical village of Riomaggiore. The church just happens to be on the same road.

It is a lovely church, stoned walls, not too much "Church Art". What caught my eye was Maria (on the right side when entering) with the knifes...different.

This lovely church with Romanesque architecture is worth a visit. It is in the upper part of the village but is worth the walk to get there. There is a little cafe nearby where you can stop for a snack and drink and enjoy the view. This church was built in 1340, is quiet, and simply beautiful in its structure.

This is a lovely, simple Church up the hill from the main harbour. Peaceful and relaxing. It's a steep walk but worth it and it's worth walking further up for a good view.

This lovely church above the village has beautiful hand carved marble and great views of the village and the sea. Worth the walk to the upper village.
