Oratorio di San Rocco is a small church located in the old town of Riomaggiore, a wonderful town in Cinque Terre National Park, a coastal zone in La Spezia Region, in the North of Italy. It is a typical little church in a small town, and. you can see it, when you walk around the old town. Nice only, better the walk.

This small oratory was built in the 15th century in remembrance of the plague that hit the village. It is a peaceful small place with interesting interior. Another reason to hike up to the castle.

Tiny church. Peaceful and old. Next to the tower of the castle. You are allowed to enter. Walk a bit further for a nice view.

I don't know who would be the congregation of this humble little chapel, because the lords that built the Castillo next door are long gone. The exterior could use a little TLC, but the interior displays a couple of decent frescoes, and it is open for those that would like to reflect quietly after the walk up the hill. As with the fort next door, great views for those that make this easy pilgrimage.

We found this little church whilst walking up and away from the tourists, so we decided to have a quick look inside. It was nice and charming and far better atmosphere than that of the large churches. Where it was near an old castle fort was the most calming and beautiful spot too.

We came across this small church whilst walking to the castello so decided to have a quick look in.
It is very tiny and plain but we thought that added to its charm after seeing so many Duomos in the major cities.
If you are wandering around the higher levels of Riomaggiore, pop in and have a look.

I stumbled upon this tiny church by accident when finishing a hike from the High Path AV5T. It is located on a small piazza, next to the Castello, just where the steps of trail 501 from Sella La Croce nears its finish. Apart from the two landmarks, there is also a lovely terrace there, with benches and nice views of the town. The church is very small and modest, yet very pretty and peaceful. There’s a beautiful triptych above the tiny altar, really nice ceiling paintings and stained glass windows that provide lovely lighting inside the church. My first thought after entering this church was that it would be a beautiful place for a small intimate wedding ceremony. Do pop in for a few minutes when in the area.
