I visited the Luxor museum on a blistering hot, uncomfortable day which didn’t improve my view of this lovely private mansion, surrounded by Nervi’s park which leads down to the Passeggiata Anita Garibaldi. It’s an elegant resident from the early 20th century owned by the Luxoro family from Genova. If you enjoy watches and clocks, this is the museum for you! They have religious clocks, wall/table clocks, mantel clocks, large, small…
Lots of clocks and watches! They also have a nice collection of 18th century Genoese wooden statues from nativity scenes, ceramics, 18th century furniture, paintings of landscapes and sea sides. Although I enjoyed seeing everything, I didn’t stay long; it was just too hot! There is no information in any other language other than Italian. The museum is open Tues-Fri 9am-1pm, Saturday 10-1p and closed on Sunday/Monday. Entrance is only 4 euro and is worth a visit if you are strolling the Passeggiata.
