I went during the golden hour, that period of time before the sun sets and everything is golden and the sky is colorful. Great view and is very picturesque. I did not take the elevator as the walk was moderate enough.

I walk up here every morning after breakfast when we are in Genova to enjoy the view. It's a nice walk (but steep!) and you can walk some more when you get up to Spianata Castelletto or you can sit on the benches and enjoy...More

This place is the best to have a clear sight of the medieval centre of Genoa. Don't miss it after a long tour of the medieval centre. From this part you can understand the development of the city during the centuries. Enjoy it both with...More

Finding the lift is a challenge (it's between the two tunnels). As mentioned in another review, you don't need tickets for the elevator - no signs explaining this. Once at top, the view is wonderful. We were fortunate to have a beautiful day. The Hop-on...More

Good viewpoint over the old part of the city. There are several elevators in Genoa. The one for this viewpoint can be found from the portillo plaza. There is an older lift that is accessible from the Garibaldi Gallery but the access tunnel could be...More

We took the lift up - don’t be fooled by the ticket machines - they are for the funicular! The top is worth a half hour wander - and if you bring your pastels you could spend all day. We did try the recommended granita...More
