We sat outside a cafe under a patio heater (luckily as it was a cold day) and took in the beauty of the square, people and dog watching. Next the Biblioteca (enormous stunning white building) the cafe is on the corner as you enter the piazza. Each building around the square is old and unique - very Italian.

A great place to have coffee or hang out. Get some food to go and sit on the marble steps opposite the Basilica and observe the activity. Nice cafes and restaurants around here, but you may find better in the other streets and area of the Citta Alta. Plenty of architecture and history to observe as well.

Was a random trip as my friend took me up from Milan. The winding streets through Bergamo is stunning. I was here in winter and it had a wonderful stillness to it all. Plenty places for coffee and eating to warm the body. But the soul felt good just walking about this place. Enjoy.

Quite pleasant place, one can stop for a coffee or a meal here - or just embrace surrounding history. If you are expecting a wow factor - simply do not, since Italy has high standards set for piazzas. But I'd bet you'll like it.

A good place to sit on marble steps or in one of the cafes and to enjoy some genuine Italian vibe. It's the place where street artists have their shows, there's also a solar calendar for science fans (nerds? ;-) ) to check out.

We visited the town twice during our stay and lingering in this Piazza was a must even if the day was a bit misty or rainy, it was worth it.

You cannot visit Beramo without spending time in the lovely Piazza!. Wonderful atmosphere, amazing monumental buildings around, the Basilica of course, some nice caffes,too...there are public toilets in one side of the piazza but not easly visible, just a small sign on the wall. We've been there at late October noon and few tourists around, so we enjoyed it a lot!!

Take the funicolare up the hill through the old city wall as early as possible in the morning, have a pleasant stroll to the Piazza, visit the Cathedral and return by bus. Thereby you can enjoy the nice views both on the way up and the way down.
