great city

the cittadella di bergamo surrounds the higher city, it is well worth a walk around it (ab. 2 km). Also awesome for some early-rise running.

Beautiful city with great houses, view and restaurants. I've tried the best cappuccino, croissants and gelato ever. This city is a must to see!!

If you want to step back into the past, just walk around all those narrow cobbled streets - each corner hides something interesting to photograph: from old, worm-eaten doors and shutters, to amazing brasswork

For those wishing to organize a different evening, the archaeological team from Bergamo, as well as organize tours in the underground of Bergamo, they offer original guided tours as the mystery tour. An evening tour walking among the corners more hidden of High Town with improvise appearances of actors. Nice and suggestive. If you want to visit Bergamo I recommend... More

The building borders a small piazza which you are likely to cross on the way to lower station of San Vigilio funicular. Now it's a home to museums. Nice arches, but if you're not interested in museums, it's just a place to have give a quick look and continue a walk.

Remainings of the old city with small details that make "la cittá alta" one of the most peculiar historical centre in Italy and Europe.

What remains of the famous Citadel is only a fortress.Nowadays it houses two museums - an archeological museum and a natural sciences one. Between the Citadel and the houses of the old town is the Piazza Mascheroni, dominated by the Bell Tower, with a clock dating back to 1520.

Gorgeous city with a small town feel. Rode the cutest funicular up to the town. Restaurants are a bit pricey, but this is not touristy town. A great place to get a feel of italian living.
