Another quaint Lake Como village with easy ferry links to Bellagio and Varenna with far fewer visitors than Bellagio. Definitely worth a stop for a walk along the promenade or to stay in better value hotels than Bellagio. You can buy either a one day...More

We took the ferry over to Menaggio from Varenna one afternoon - it's a lovely town, more of a working town than Varenna or Bellagio but we really liked the feel of it. We wanted to do the hike to La Crocetta - inquired at...More

If you go to Menaggio and take the ferry in 10 minutes you will get to Varenna. It's much better than Menaggio. I spent 3 days in Menaggio and after a short visit in Varenna I was really impressed.

Hmmm. I personally wouldn't recommend cycling but plenty of people do. Roads are just a bit crazy and busy at times. Plenty of boats and the ferry to take you over to the other places around Lake Como
