ComoLagoBike rentals were fantastic. We contacted them by WhatsApp at 5pm and our road bikes were all ready at 10am the next morning.
The team were well set up with maps/safety and repair kit and advice.
High quality bikes.
We rode up Madonna del Ghisallo-amazing views and interesting museum (with a discount for cyclists and crocs to borrow so you don’t walk around in cleats!). Had to drag husband away or we’d still be in the museum.
My only warning (not related to the bike rental itself) is around public transport-we were staying in Como and all the ferries from Bellagio back were booked up and there was a long wait for a packed bus. This seems to be a recurring issue.

Today I had a wonderful cycling trip with Alberto.
we drove with him 36 km with a climb of 700 m, it was just something: a fantastic view, gorgeous mountains, damn unreal air
In general, I recommend it to everyone, it was easy to drive 2.5 hours, it flew by like 5 minutes, it’s not difficult and you certainly get a lot of fun. I have already set my next goal: take bicycles and go around Lake Coma, it’s only 160 km and can be done in one day. Alberta is a cool guy, very sociable, pleasant, thank you very much

We rented a bike for a day at a very reasonable price. The service was excellent and the staff was extremely friendly. It’s also great that the establishment is run by a former Tour de France yellow jersey wearer!
When we rented the bike we were given a lift from the town centre to the workshop and then from there to our hotel - the staff were really very flexible.
We had some good information on a super popular (and hard) road cycling route (the Madonna del Ghisallo and the Muro di Sormano climbs along with a fabulous descent) and we were given a map as well. We ended up buying the shop’s cycling kit and another jersey which were all excellent quality and for which we were given a good discount. I would definitely recommend the services provided by this very professional shop and we will be returning at some point.

On short notice, during a very busy late September weekend, Simone and Patricia supplied us with 2 E-Bikes for the day. The guided tours were all full so Patricia suggested a self-guided 35km route and lunch at Chateau Gabriele. It was a perfect day. Simone was very prompt with text communication and Patricia made you feel very welcome at the kiosk. Highly recommended.

We are keen cyclists. 2 of us got out to Bellagio and rented bikes from ComoLagoBike (did not do any of their tours this time). The service is fantastic, and meeting Alberto Elli, the owner and ex cycling pro and yellow jersey wearer was an honour. The whole team are super nice. Luca, the mechanic, is another really nice guy. Nothing is too much travel for any of them, they love their cycling and they want you to really enjoy your cycling trip.
The bikes are beautiful, we hired the Pinarello Princes which are in beautiful condition and a fantastic ride, all gear very much top of the range (Ultegra, Fulcrums, etc.). Beautiful bikes to ride.
The tips on where to ride locally by the team are fantastic, with some climbs suggested which as a tourist you would not know about, so you can add some local gems to the iconic ones that take you there in the first place.
The Triangle and its surrounding area is a great place to ride. Really fantastic cycling atmosphere and iconic, mythical climbs, like the Ghisallo and the crazy hard Muro di Sormano. A true cycling experience which any serious cyclist should try.
We took our bkes to Belluno by car to climb Marmolada, Monte Grappa and Croce d'Aune, so did not spent so much time around Bellagio this time, other than doing Ghisallo and Muro di Sormano on the next day, but will be going back to ride some of Alberto's great suggestions.
One final point. The bike shop is at the Il Perlo Panorama hotel. We did not stay there this time, as we booked ourselves in Como, but would do next time. The hotel is beautiful, breathtaking views. The owners and staff are just great, super friendly and helpful. The restaurant, open to the garden and overlooking the lake is fabulous, both in setting and quality of food.
I cannot recommend ComoLagoBike, Il Perlo Panorama Hotel and the Lariano Triangle region enough. The perfect cycling holiday.

We were staying at the wonderful Hotel il Perlo and arranged a 63km ride around the North part of lake Como. Alberto was a wonderful leader and sensitive to our cycling speed etc. Took the ferry. Lots of interesting chat and we loved our ride. His business clearly caters for all riders, ebikes too. A memorable experience.

Very efficient process. During initial interactions my texts were always promptly answered. When I arrived the bike I had chosen was waiting there for me. I chose to do self-guided trips, but the hints and maps provided me, gave me a good opportunity to plot out four daily routes. I covered 300km and 3000m+ around lakes Como and Lugano. All enjoyable. Highly recommended.

Incredible experience with Alberto. The reservation process, communication from Simone and guided tour were the highlight of our trip to Como. The bike options were incredible and the guided tour and ride to the Ghisallo were a memory of a lifetime!

We were staying at the hotel next door, so thought we'd have a go on e bikes for the first time. We were very lucky to have Alberto take us on a 3h+ ride, which was a great experience, even for a non cyclist like me. Alberto was a great guide and made us feel safe on the Italian roads - thanks Alberto!

Helen S, thanks a lot for sharing your comment here.

you can find this here only, if you are in Bellagio

To ComoLagoBike, what types of tours do you offer?
Also, do you have a web site ?
Written June 23, 2018
Dear Doclinn thanks: website is comolagobike
we provide both group tours with shorter rides of about 60 km leaving every day around 9:30 AM or Custom guided tours with one of our guides - Longer rides on itineraries to agree with you and your expectations. Third level is the ride with the Champion, a custom guided tour with Alberto Elli, our cycling manager and former pro rider, wearing yellow jersey at the Tour de France for 4 days in 2000. He rode Tour the France 12 years.

Are there bike route that are relatively flat in the area ?
Written June 18, 2018
Doclinn thanks... flat is sometimes a bit hard to say here: relatively flat would be better to describe us.
If you stay along the lake you have few up and downs, let's say hilly........... the back side, which is even the more interesting is to climb and gain... did you ever think about eBikes??? you pedal, enjoy the spinning and explore in a safe easy way if you are not use to climbs. we have wonderful bottecchia Emtb providing rides of about 80 km....
Written June 22, 2018
Do you have bicycles with children's seats? Age 2-4, or 13kg +?
Written July 24, 2017
We do not have children seats, sorry! Due to the mountainous terrain and lack of pure cycle paths, we do not recommend putting toddlers on the back of our rental bikes. Thank you for your question!
Written July 24, 2017
Are the bike trails clearly marked and easy to navigate without a guide?
Written June 19, 2017
MTB trails are marked well, however, it is very difficult to create a route on your own as there are many possibilities and many different trails to take. We definitely recommend a guide so you don't get lost.
As for road biking, some routes are pretty easy to navigate, but as the other traveller stated above, a guide will take you on secondary roads and share the culture and history with you!
