This church is one the few where I have felt peace since visiting Italy. It is simple and beautiful; peaceful and gentle. An aura of spirituality exists here. Sit and stay a while. Whilst we were there a family came in. They lit a candle...More

If in Sirmione, you must visit the church of St. Peter in Mavino. Without a real sense of the church, I happened upon it during a early, weekday morning walk and was blown away by its beauty. The ancient church has a collection of early...More

We enjoyed the walk up to the Chiesa and the peace and quiet around the place. A large monument honoring the fallen of the different conflicts invites to a quiet moment. Great walk also with kids and a stroller.

A small but beautiful church that offers quiet reflection, an opportunity to light a candle and take a moment away from the throng of tourists in the town.

A place of calm and serenity away from worldly concerns. Signposted and so not difficult to find. Beautiful old wall painting us too.

Away from the main hubbub of Sirmione this church is delightful, a place of calm and peace. Very plain and simple inside with centuries old frescoes.

Very old Romanesque church remarkable in its austerity and simplicity. Such a lovely tranquil oasis away from the crowds of Sirmione center. Surprisingly, the old frescoes of the 14th century did not lose their colors, the altar and the walls retained their authenticity over the...More

Only 5 minutes walk uphill from our hotel in Sirmione, this place couldn’t be more different. Peaceful, no crowds, no noise, wonderful Byzantine frescoes. Perfect
