Unfortunately the visit of the castle has been “ruined” from the quantity of people around. Frankly I think that they should have time tickets so that you can enjoy the visit. Saying this the 13th century castle is wonderful and very instructive to see it.

The view from the top of the castle gives you a great view of the Garda lake and the ancient Sirmione. Impressive defensive building with a great a view once you make it to the top.

There are numerous stairs to get up onto the parapets but the views of the lake and town are definitely worth the climb. The castle is spotless, a cleaner was dusting the stairs when we were there.

This castle at the tip of the peninsula is absolutely beautiful, the only drawback is that it is €17 to get in. Some people might not find it worth it. Absolutely gorgeous to look at, it’s in a great location.

It’s a small very well preserved castle at the entrance to Sirmione historic center. Very nice walk around on the top of the walls, great views of the lake and the town. Take a short boat trip around the town for views from the lake.

This is a beautiful castle in the lakeside town of Sirmione which is near Verona. Though teeming with tourists, the castle was not over crowded. Built on the shore of Lake Gorda, the castle provides a beautiful view overlooking the turquoise blue lake.

We had a great morning visit to this picture perfect castle on the south of Lake Garda. getting there is longer than you think. we parked out pretty far, there are closer parking spots to the castle itself, evern if you cant find a spot,...More

While you certainly need to come and see this castle, don’t expect too much. The inside is empty and fully re-built. The views from the top are nice though and worth the hour spent and the 6 euros for the ticket

The view from the tower and walls are amazing although you need to be fit enough to climb many steps so not for those with walking difficulties

Interesting and with brilliant views of lake and town. A lot of steps and no good for anyone who doesn't like heights though.

There is an entrance ticket to the archaeological site. The castle is in the centre of the village, you can't miss it. There are toilet facilities too.

Take a look at the working hours for the castle on their web pages... I went to Scalinger Castle in the summer, and on Sunday it was working only till 13h.
