Being a banker I'm always interested in the often beautiful and impressive bankbuildings built during 1880-1930. During that period the head offices of banks were often palaces. And this building at the superbe Piazza della Scala is certainly one of such fine examples which remained...More

The museum is housed in three palaces on the corner opposite La Scala. The visit starts with the temporary exhibition - presently the 20c "Arte Come Rivelazione" with works from the usual suspects - Warhol, Basquiat, Rauschenberg etc- plus less well known Italian artists from...More

I just dropped in on a Sunday afternoon and was pleasantly surprised at the scope of art works on display from old masters to modern work and the place is vast.

We were only in Milan for a few days, but after having good looks at the Brera and Ambrosiana, we had had our fill of the Jesus and Mary stuff. So we checked out three galleries that are billed as having worthwhile collections of 19th...More

Although a novice to opera, this historical and world renowned opera house is a "must see" for any visitor. Entrance includes the museum as well as view of the famous opera house stage.

The Caravaggio exhibition is a joke if you are expecting to see several Caravaggio's paintings as there is just a single one exhibited, the other have been painted by his followers or contemporaries. BUT, I went to other rooms far from the crowd and I...More
