Be aware of your personal belongings. Signs posting trains very clear. Platforms well marked. Workers around to help. Can get very crowded.

I have been coming here for years, and I think I will keep coming. Milano main station keeps evolving beyond any expectation. It's safe. Nobody goes in without ticket. At the beginning the thing to show the tickets to the security can be kind of irritating, but in the end is a good thing. The food is better and better.... More

You fee like an ant when walking through the arches of the train station. The scale used is marvellous. Each arch is higher than the other and the building seems to have been built by giants. The platforms where trains arrive/depart is very well kept. Great opportunity for pictures both inside and outside the station. I had no problems at... More

An incredible facade and imposing internal vistas. However, after a long flight and an hour on the Malpensa 'Express' the number of staircases you have to overcome can be very tiring particularly when you carrying luggage, Much better to appreciate the building when you are not actually using it.

A nice place to visit, even if you have no business at the train station. The building is impressive, inside and outside. Beware of the places to eat around the station, some are tourist traps (be sure to ask for a menu and look at the prices before ordering anything!)

I'm not sure you'd make a special trip to see the station but if you're travelling through it's quite a sight. A very grand and impressive stone facade with amazing sculptures. Pretty regular scruffy train station inside.

The station is a fabulous piece of architecture. The whole booking procedure is fairly simple however we were concerned to find a not inconsiderable number of migrants standing around both outside and inside the station. Had to block one or two who gave the distinct impression of trying to read card numbers when a family member was booking. Just stay... More

A very efficient station, all the trains we caught were on time and were well staffed. Plenty of English speaking "helpers" dotted around the ticket machines (all ticket machines have an English option) and the whole process of getting a ticket and finding platforms is easy. Good information boards show platform and times, you just need to remember to validate... More

Staying in Stazione Centrale

Neighbourhood Profile
Stazione Centrale
Central Station represents a bridge towards the future. Impressive skyscrapers and new age buildings stretch the skyline with the majestic Unicredit Tower cutting through. Surrounding it are large towers that define Piazza Gae Aulenti, where the fountain and the Monumento Trombe leave one breathless. A famous building of the district is the Vertical Forest, where the innovative materials and trees planted on the terraces are a unique mix of nature and man-made construction. In the district, there is the Monumental Cemetery, known for its antique tombs with sculptures portraying angels of commemorative scenes many will find touching.
