We did a day trip to Saluzzo and Cuneo from Alba, with little fore knowledge. Oh my what a discovery is Cuneo, the Via Roma walk and the Piazza Galimberti! We were blown away, and quite upset that we did not have more time, and began to make plans to come back and book lodging directly on the Via Roma. There was an ongoing setup for some type of festival, street lights etc, and it hurt us badly to leave. We did try the Chocolate Rhum treats, and we saw the cathedral which is a top fiver. The key is the walkability, the shopping, people watching, abundance of cafes and ristorantes, and the option for shade strolling vs sun. It's a stunner.

Nothing driving into this wonderful city indicated that I could expect a Town Square of this magnitude. The huge square is surrounded with arcades, which make it possible to walk around it even if it is raining. There's a large outdoor market held in the square on Tuesday mornings and it is mostly clothing's that are sold here and I was amazed about the activity from the early morning. There are many cafes in the arcades and it is a great place just to sit and relax and let the world go by. On the square you also have the Casa Museo Galimberti, which is a history and archaeology museum. I stayed at the Best Western hotel located next to the square and it was perfect.

Not much really to say about this attraction. It is in a large open air court. Great photo ops, lots of energy from the people in the area. Short walk down the street to a variety of resturaunts.

The square is an impressive sight and pleasant to walk around. Also great to visit on market day (Tuesday) when the whole square and a number of side streets are packed with stalls. On Sunday the road around the square was closed and we watched children competing in cycle races - this square is clearly not just a big municipal space but a center for local activity.

The square consists of about eight huge buildings of similar style which are of an attractive design. In the centre is the statue and there is a vast open area which is used for a cloths market on a Tuesday. Around the outside are hugely attractive cloistered areas housing a variety of shops, bars, hotels and restaurants. The square also marks the divide between the old town around via Roma and the new town around Corso Nizza. And is splendid to walk around in the gem of a town, which is Cuneo.

It's just your average plaza in the middle of a town. Stores around. Parking. Statue in the middle. Not ugly, but not particularly pretty either.

One big statue in the middle, but not much else. I am told that there is a market on Tuesday and Friday. The best thing is the pavement cafes all around it . Great for people watching.

Beautiful structures around, great monument, a beautiful view of mountains in a far, nostalgic Tuesday market, nice food from surrounding restaurants and.... massive empty space for the rest of the days. Sad when the greatness show its emptiness

Large Piazza in the centre of town. Market day Tuesday but outside of that largely unused (which is a shame).
Shops under cover all around the edge.
