Nice statue and story

At the center of the Piazza Palazzo di Cittá stands the statue of the Green Count, or of Amadeus VI Count of Savoy who during the 14th century fought against the Turks and Bulgars for the Byzantine Empire.

Interesting legend (or story) and attractive statue

Standing in front of Turin's classical City Hall, on an attractive square, this large bronze statue standing over a square pedestal, represents Amadeo VI of Savoy, also known as the Conte Verde (or Green Count), because of his predilection for wearing green, on his victory over the Ottoman Turks in the mid-14th century/ The standing Count holds his sword high, about to strike the two Turks, one at his feet, the other in a semi-kneeling position to his side. An explanatory text in Italian can be seen on one side of the pedestal, which stands on four ever larger square stone bases.
