Piazza San Carlo was designed by Carlo di Castellamonte in 1642 and completed in 1650. In the middle of the piazza you’ll find the equestrian statue of Emanuele Filiberto (known to all as “El Caval èd brons”), sculpted by Carlo Marocchetti in 1838. The porticoed buildings surrounding the piazza give space to numerous bars, cafes, and restaurants.

Crossed by the Via Roma (high end shopping street), this pedestrianised square is in th thick of things in Turin. Nearby arcades give access to Fiorfood (shop, restaurant and bistro) selling good quality local cooperative produce.

I had gone to Italy for work in 2015 and found this to be a beautiful place to spend an evening. In fact after our walk here (take the pedestrian routes) we saw a blues brothers concert in the area. Plus the best gelato. The architecture is beautiful and it is in the middle of the city centre so you... More

Walked by, just like many other piazzas so unfortunately it failed to impress. No need for a detour.

Being in the city centre of a big city, this place still feels so peaceful and beautiful. Surrounded by lots of (expensive) fashion brands and magnificent buildings, this piazza makes you feel a bit in awe.

This is a beautiful Plaza to be in on a nice, cool afternoon in Turin, where you could listen to street buskers singing pop songs or playing pieces such as River Flows in You on the keyboard (along the shopping street facing the Piazza). Feels surreal.
